Job Summary:
Plan, implement, and direct drug and alcohol prevention programming to youth and their families in the After-School and Summer Recreation Programs. Provide outreach prevention programming to area schools.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Plan and implement drug & alcohol prevention activities using approved programming within the Trinity Center and outside venues including schools.
2. Represent the agency while distributing drug & alcohol prevention materials at community events, staffing an informational table, or facilitating a presentation.
3. Attend online training for the Life Skills Training Curriculum and facilitate curriculum for different age youth during after school program and within school settings.
4. Plan and implement Red Ribbon week activities for youth, staff, and community.
5. Collect and compile data for monthly and performance-based prevention report.
6. Collaborate with local universities for volunteer opportunities
7. Order and inventory prevention materials from appropriate sources.
8. Interact and provide youth supervision during the after-school and summer recreation programs.
9. Attend county Drug and Alcohol committee meetings.
10. Collaborate and work in tandem with the Trinity Center Supervisor.
11. Research continued new prevention-based programming for the center.
12. Complete and maintain approved, required initial and yearly Department of Drug & Alcohol Program (DDAP) trainings
Professional Responsibilities:
1. Understand and fulfill job duties within the scope of the mission statement.
2. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency.
3. Establish and maintain professional relationships with all agency personnel, youth, families, and outside agencies.
4. Meet with supervisor monthly for one-on-one supervision to discuss expectations and job duties.
5. Fulfill training requirements as outlined in the Staff Development policy.
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
1. Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor during periods of increased demands on time and attention from multiple sources.
2. Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written. This includes the ability to converse with youth and families of various socioeconomic backgrounds in a professional manner.
3. Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues and prevention strategies including the ability to maintain a high level of understanding of current trends affecting youth and families.
4. Ability to plan, organize and lead individual and group activities.
5. Ability to speak to a wide audience in a public venue effectively.
Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:
1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in the human services field. Associate’s Degree required.
2. One year’s experience in drug and alcohol prevention preferred.
3. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
4. Experience working with children and families required.
5. FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances required depending on residency status.
Physical Demands:
1. Lifting requirement of less than 20lbs on an occasional basis.
2. Ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel within the community.

Salary: $18 per hour
