Job Summary:
Essential Functions of the Position:
Licensed mental health professional; or an individual with a graduate mental health degree and at least one-year experience in a CASSP system (employed by or under
contract to Children and youth Services, Juvenile Justice, Mental, Health, Special Education, or Drug and Alcohol working with children). Experience working in the mental health field is required, particularly providing therapy, developing treatment plans, safety plans, etc.
1. Conduct client assessments as needed.
2. Design behavioral interventions in collaboration with the treatment team, education team, and the family.
3. Provide family liaison and treatment planning and linkage with other service stakeholders.
4. Conduct client-centered case consultation, in-service training, supervision and implantation of the care plan.
5. Provide individual, family and group treatment, and crisis intervention services in school, home and community settings.
6. Work collaboratively with the school district to compliment school district interventions such as the school district’s education based, emotional, & behavioral support programs.
7. Serve as a liaison to the school district staff.
Professional Responsibilities:
1. Understand and fulfill job duties within the scope of the mission statement.
2. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency.
3. Maintain professional relationships with all agency personnel, school district, referral sources, clients, families, and outside agencies.
4. Meet with supervisor monthly for one-on-one supervision to discuss expectations and job duties.
5. Fulfill training requirements as outlined in the Staff Development policy.
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
1. Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor during periods of increased demands on time and attention from multiple sources.
2. Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written. This includes the ability to interact with children and families of various socioeconomic backgrounds in a professional manner.
3. Superior knowledge of normal and abnormal child and adolescent behavior and the ability to apply that knowledge to provide valuable treatment planning and therapy to children and families.
4. Ability to plan, organize and lead individual and group activities.
5. Ability to de-escalate an emotionally charged or potentially violent situation using the least restrictive method possible.
Salary: $47,000-$50,000
