Job Summary:

The Mental Health Professional is responsible for the coordination of referrals, admissions, assessments, interventions, therapy and discharge planning under the direction of the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) Supervisor. This position will seek to ensure trauma-informed care and the creation and maintenance of a trauma-informed environment on the PRTF unit(s).


Essential Functions of the Position:

1. Responsible for developing treatment plans within the first five days of treatment to include a detailed, individualized crisis prevention and intervention responses.

2. Conducts a formal treatment plan review in accordance with the 3800 regulations.

3. Ensure each client receives individual therapy for a minimum of one hour weekly or as needed based on mental health needs as well as family therapy weekly.

4. Ensures compliance with all regulations and standards for licensure and accreditation.

5. Maintains individual client charts and entering of data into electronic file system.

6. Implement and co-facilitate therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities.

7. Participate, observe, and document group dynamic interactions.

8. Work with program staff to ensure the safe implementation of the behavioral management program appropriate to the needs of the clients.

9. Develops and implement training for staff to ensure continuous improvement in staff’s ability to provide quality service for the clients.

10. Collaborates with team members (Mental Health Workers, other MHP’s, Psychiatrist, and the Nurse) ensuring the physical, emotional, and medical needs of the clients are met.

11. Provides 24 hour/day, 7 days per week on-call for supervision and programmatic oversight.

12. Acts as liaison between referral source and treatment teams.

13. Ensures client to staff ratios are kept at all times.


Salary: $45,760 to $54,080 per year based on experience and licensure.
