Mental Health Professional - Partial Hospitalization
Job Summary: PART TIME - School Based Year
A Mental Health Professional (MHP) is responsible for the coordination of referrals, admissions, assessments, interventions, therapy, and discharge planning under the direction of the Program Supervisor. This is school year-based position.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Supervise clients including: ensuring clients follow agency & program policies & procedures, implementation of Partial regulations, knowing clients’ location at all times, being aware of possible problems, implementing activities, & being alert to safety issues.
2. Complete individual therapy with each client weekly, family therapy monthly.
3. Maintain individual client charts.
4. Implement and co-facilitate therapeutic and educational activities.
5. Participate, observe, and document group dynamic interactions.
6. Responsible for assessment and treatment planning for clients, including behavior modification programs.
7. Work with program staff to ensure the safe implementation of the behavioral management program appropriate to the needs of the Partial clients.
8. Collaborate with team members (Mental Health Workers, other MHP’s, Psychiatrist, and Teachers) ensuring the physical, emotional and medical needs of the clients are met.
9. Responsible for MA documentation of client contact.
10. Assist with chart auditing procedures.

3. Maintain professional relationships with all agency personnel, community leaders, school district personnel, students, families and outside agencies.
4. Meet with supervisor biweekly for one-on-one supervision to discuss expectations and job duties.
5. Fulfill training requirements as outlined in the Staff Development policy.
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
1. Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor during periods of increased demands on time and attention from multiple sources.
2. Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written. This includes the ability to interact with children and families of various socioeconomic backgrounds in a professional manner.
3. Superior knowledge of normal and abnormal child and adolescent behavior and the ability to apply that knowledge to provide valuable treatment planning and therapy to children and families.
4. Ability to plan, organize and lead individual and group activities.
5. Ability to de-escalate an emotionally charged or potentially violent situation using the least restrictive method possible.
Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:
1. Master’s degree in social service related field is required.
2. Knowledge of CASSP & special education principles.
3. Experience working in the mental health field is required, preferably with children and families.
4. FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on residency status.
Physical Demands:
1. Lifting requirement of less than 20lbs on an occasional basis.
2. Ability to actively participate in recreational activities such as basketball, swimming, volleyball and walking.
3. Ability to perform a physical intervention which requires the strength to grasp, hold and maneuver a resident into various positions involving standing, sitting, kneeling and laying.
