Department: Erie County Independent Living Program
Immediate Supervisor: ECILP Supervisor
Job Summary:
Responsible for transporting youth to independent living related activities and appointments and for minor maintenance and repair of vehicles and building.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Pick up youth at various locations throughout Erie utilizing a company vehicle.
2. Transport youth to activities and/or appointments related to services provided by independent living program.
3. Provide safe transportation following all safety precautions established by PA DMV and Bethesda Lutheran Services.
4. Provide minor vehicle maintenance and periodic cleaning of fleet vehicles, reporting the need for any repairs to the program supervisor.
5. Assist with and complete general repairs within ILP facilities to include rental properties and moving youth.
6. Assist with the operation/maintenance of the youth driven business vehicle (food truck) and equipment (generator, propane)
7. Manual snow removal and spreading of ice melt, if needed.
Required Education, Experience and Clearances:
1. Must be at least 21 years old.
2. High School Diploma or GED.
3. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
3. FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on status
4. Some experience in general building maintenance required.
Physical Demands:
1. Ability to lift and move items including but not limited to office furniture and equipment with varying weights from light (5 lbs) to heavy (50 lbs).
2. Ability to operate a vehicle including transporting clients various distances and during a variety of weather conditions.
3. Ability to operate a large vehicle (food truck).
