Our Leadership team brings decades of experience to the Social Services field. Bethesda offers the highest wages for Residential direct care workers in the area and a very competitive benefit package. All of our staff are well trained and work with our youth utilizing a trauma informed care approach. Bethesda’s Residential living units also emphasize a trauma informed treatment environment utilizing a smaller group setting, with treatment programs ranging from 6 youth to a maximum population of 10 youth per living units.
Bethesda’s residential environment has great amenities on our 365 acres. Youth have opportunities to participate in treatment activities at our movie theater, heated in ground pool, two gymnasiums, volleyball courts and a dirt bike program
Our residential programs are located on our beautiful campus in Meadville PA, but we welcome and highly encourage applicants from Erie County. Bethesda will provide transportation daily to potential Erie applicants that are interested in joining our team in Meadville.
Job Summary:
Assist with and perform all aspects of maintenance of Bethesda Lutheran Services properties in order to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Receive and complete work orders.
2. Assist with and complete electrical work.
3. Assist with and complete plumbing.
4. Assist with and complete carpentry.
5. Assist with and complete painting.
6. Assist with and complete any and all general repairs.
7. Utilize mower and other lawn care equipment to maintain Bethesda properties.
8. Provide snow removal using plows, shovels, all terrain vehicles, etc.
9. Conduct and document fire drills following all regulations.
10. Maintain the swimming pool including opening the pool, monitoring water quality, treating water, and closing pool.
11. Minor vehicle maintenance.
Professional Responsibilities:
1. Understand and fulfill job duties within the scope of the mission statement.
2. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency.
3. Maintain professional relationships with agency personnel, clients, and outside agencies.
4. Meet with supervisor biweekly for one-on-one supervision.
5. Act as a positive role model for residents by maintaining a professional demeanor and ethical behavior at all times.
6. Fulfill training requirements as outlined in the Staff Development policy and as required by the supervisor and/or the program.
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
1. High mechanical aptitude.
2. General knowledge of all areas of maintaining buildings and grounds including electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
3. Ability to be in the on-call rotation.
Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:
1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
Salary - $17 - $18 per hour based on experience
